In the Northwest of Sichuan Province there is a county named Ganzi. Due to the remote location and high altitude of 3500 meters, this land provides people with cold weather and hard living conditions. Education became a big problem for the children there. For the locals’ conveniences, Gyal Den, the living Buddha from the Dajin Temple, founded a charity school on October 1st, 1994, with his savings and the fund he had raised personally. The school is open to both male and female, and offer special assistance to disabled children, orphans and those who have special difficulties. The school runs basic courses such as Tibetan, Chinese, math, drawing, physical education, and ideological and ethical education. Besides, it even had run some occupational courses for adults, which greatly helped those students to improve their economic conditions.

A cozy room located in Gulou Street, Xicheng District, Beijing is reputed to be a paradise for some blind people. In 2005, with a TV set, a DVD player and some seats, in this little room Wang Weili opened his special cinema, interpreting films for the blind and visually impaired. Before interpreting every new film, Wang has to watch the film for about five times and prepare the scripts elaborately. Till now, the cinema has made over 300 film “visible” to the blind and trained over 100 volunteer film-interpreters. Every Saturday morning, the blind come to the cinema “watching” films. Wang and his wife even develop books for the blind, take them on tours and help them to employment. Wang is also met with incredulities. But for one reason he insists on his charity project and never gives up...
